My Go-To Collagen Boosting Treatments

Hey everyone! I am so excited to be writing my first blog post! As most of you know, Im a skincare junkie at heart and have an obsession with all things beauty. Here on the blog, Ill be sharing with all of you my favorite skin care regimens, procedures and much much more! I hope all of you find it insightful, and learn more about what is right for you and your skin!

Today, I want to share with all of you, my go-to Collagen Boosting Treatments. These are treatments that are safe for all skin types and I recommend to most, if not all of my patients. I also make sure, that I myself, have one of these treatments, at least every couple months. These treatments are great for healthy skin maintenance and will help you achieve a youthful healthy glow!

Microneedling

Microneedling is a minimally invasive procedure and one that I cannot live without! Microneedling uses tiny needles to puncture the skin at various depths to create a controlled skin injury. What are the pros to this procedure?

  • Stimulates the growth of new collagen and elastin

  • New collagen production in as little as 48 hours and noticeable results in about four weeks

  • A series of 4-6 treatments are recomended, one month apart, depending on your skin concerns.

  • Improves skin texture and repairs skin issues, such as: uneven skin tone, wrinkles, fine lines and scarring

*For an extra boost, add Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP) to the treatment which uses the power of your own bloods platelets to rejuvenate skin and reinvigorate cellular turnover.

BBL (Broad Band Light Therapy)

BBL is non-invasive treatment and has a nickname of “forever young BBL”. It is a phototherapy treatment that uses broadband light to target signs of aging, sun damage, and other skin conditions. This process will restore your skin to its natural beauty. I describe BBL to my patients as the “wow effect!” treatment, it is one you will definitely want to incorporate into your skin care maintenance.

Pros of this treatment:

  • Clearer, smoother and radiant skin

  • Reduces the appearance of sun damage and subtracts years from your complexion

  • Non-invasive and minimal down time

  • The energy allows precise treatment for fine wrinkles, age and sun spots, small facial veins and several other skin blemishes

  • Stimulates new collagen

  • Results will show within two weeks

Retinol

Retinol is a skin care product that, in my opinion is a game changer! It should be a part of your everyday skin regimen, starting in your mid twenties to early thirties. This anti aging product will deliver real results when you are disciplined with using it.

What is retinol?

Retinol is made from Vitamin A and is a supplement for your skin which your body cannot produce solely on its own. It helps create more collagen, which in turn, plumps the skin and reduces the appearance of wrinkles and fine lines. It also helps improve skin tone.

How to use:

  • Use a pea-sized amount when applying

  • Use about three times per week when you begin use

  • Make sure you are using the right strength of Retinol for your skin type

  • Use only at night and wear SPF during the day

Make sure to comment with any questions/concerns relating to this post, I would love to hear your feedback! Thank you for the support and for taking the time to read my first blog post!
