BEAUTY ESSENTIALS FOR TRAVELING

My husband and I are constantly traveling, which can be both glamorous and exhausting. As much as we love to travel and explore, there's no denying the fact that when we travel, our skincare regime suffers a lot, especially during the holiday season. Luckily, I did my research and logged the miles and learned how to make my skin behave no matter what the climate. So, whether you're traveling to sub-zero temperatures or a super warm destination this holiday season, I'm using my frequent flyer miles to recommend some helpful skincare tips for traveling. Of course, we can't all have our full skincare regimen with us on the road, so I've tried to capture the must-have items to help keep your complexion and carry-on in order. Here's what to pack for long-haul flights, train rides, and car trips.

  1. When traveling, our skin tends to get extra dehydrated and drier than usual from the change in climate, minerals in the water you're washing your face with, and a multitude of other things. That's why to keep my skin glowing; I love using Avene Cleansing Oil, it keeps my skin from drying out and does the job of clarifying and ridding it of all dirt and impurities.

  2. To beat the relentless dryness of high-altitudes or overdry skin, I always have my Hyaluronic Acid Serum and good rich moisturizer at-the-ready in my carry-on. Apply this serum after cleansing your face to keep it nice and hydrated. This will help you maintain consistency and is perfect for prepping skin before smoothing in face oils to seal in even more moisture. I highly recommend SkinCeuticals HA intensifier and Sente Dermal Repair Cream.

  3. No matter what city you're jetting off to, make sure you're protecting that stunning face from UV rays… always! You can't go wrong traveling with a tinted SPF; it protects while also giving some coverage. It's light but covers and doesn't look caked on. Alastin's tinted SPF, is my favorite!

  4. Just as your face gets dry, irritated and dehydrated- so does your body! I always bring an extra heavy hydrating body lotion with me when traveling. Don't neglect the other skin on your body. It needs TLC too! I use Avene Body Lotion, it's melt in balm and leaves your skin extremely moisturized- an instant game changer!

  5. If I were stuck on an island with only one product, this last recommendation would hands down be in my suitcase - my favorite Glow MD Brightening Pads. These pads contain antioxidants and colic acid that keep my skin moisturized and glowing!
